It’s so hard to write about me, in the first person. To write about me, as me, and not as some character, whose sole purpose is to deflect you, the reader, from getting to know me, Tony, the writer, the artist, the producer, the person.
Mephisto is not my dark side. Mephisto is me, magnified. Magnified as exemplified by my Facebook status updates. As exemplified by my rants in my blog, i.Mephisto: i.Muse & i.Amuse!
For many, Mephisto is all who they will ever meet. Some will express exasperation, trying to navigate their way through the smoke and mirrors, to meet me. It’s not for nothing that my sign name [or Deaf name if you like] is “Funny Man”. Indeed, some will not both bother with the smokes and mirrors and move on to something less onerous.
Some, through either perseverance, luck, or insight, will get to meet Tony: the man, the gentle, affectionate, and flirtatious soul, peeking from behind the mask that is Mephisto. Some through serendipity, will catch Tony as he plays, fights, and laughs with his nephews and nieces.
And who is Tony?
Well, Tony is the man laying beside you, at three in the morning, caressing your hair, watching you as you sleep.
